The practice is unreachable by phone. My husband and I have been patients at this practice for years and have always received the same ointments. If you haven't been to the practice for 4-5 months, you won't get a repeat prescription without seeing the doctor. Making an appointment on your own is already difficult, as you can't reach the practice by phone or email! So you have to go there in person and wait 30 minutes in the hallway before you can even get to the reception desk to make an appointment! After trying to reach the practice by email and phone for two months and waiting 40 minutes in the hallway with our toddler, we were turned away without a prescription.
I waited two months for this appointment, even had blood work done beforehand, and didn't go to the dermatologist for fun, but because my skin is in very bad condition. The doctor seriously told me that my skin was "untreatable." As a patient, you really have to wonder why you even go to a dermatologist if you're told there are no treatment options – even though there have been in the past. Instead of a medical solution, I was once again recommended a paid peel from the office, which I had already been sold before and which hadn't brought any improvement whatsoever. When I pointed out that I didn't want to do it again, the gist of it was: "Then there's nothing we can do." This seemed more like a sales pitch than medical advice. Especially unprofessional was the constant assertion that this was "normal" and that she had the same thing herself. That's completely irrelevant to me – I'm there as a patient because my skin condition isn't normal for me, and I expect help. The conversation ended abruptly and rudely, without offering alternatives, without explanation, and without any real interest in the patient. After months of waiting, this is simply unacceptable.
The one star is for the quick appointment scheduling, even though I had to get it in person. I was a little surprised that I got one the very next day, but that "miracle" vanished on the day of the appointment. A patient was called over the loudspeaker seemingly every five minutes, which led me to believe there was a separate waiting room. But no! When it was my turn, I was taken to the examination room of a "doctor" with a language barrier, who asked what I wanted. I showed her a skin change, which she immediately dismissed as a seborrheic keratosis. To reassure myself, I asked if she was absolutely sure, to which she replied curtly that it could also be basal cell carcinoma. When I asked, confused, what exactly it was, she became unfriendly and told me quite brusquely to apply an ointment and wait two months to see what happened. If it didn't go away, I should schedule a biopsy. That was it. I'm appalled! Having worked in healthcare for 40 years myself, I wonder if she's even a dermatologist. I immediately consulted another dermatologist in Bad Nauheim and received excellent treatment there.
